In honor of the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II, this year's National Championship Air Races pays special tribute to World War II veterans with a full contingent of vintage war-birds. Scheduled highlights include a B-17 Flying Fortress, B-29 Superfortress, P-47 Thunderbolt, Submarine Spitfire, and much more.

These flying legends set the stage for fast-flying action, with the national championships of the world's fastest motorsport. Watch the best pilots in the country go for the gold at Reno/Stead Airport, with a total purse of $565,000. Rare Unlimited racers, AT-6 warbird trainers, champion Formula One home-builts, and speedy sport Biplanes make up the four classes at the world's premier air racing event.

Along with exciting air racing action, you'll also enjoy one of the West's biggest and best air shows. See dazzling formation flying by the world-famous Canadian Snowbirds. Marvel at modern military fly-bys, demonstrations and exhibits from the US and Canadian Armed Forces. And be amazed by some of North America's top air show performers including Sean Tucker, Wayne Handley, Jim Franklin, Leo Loudenslager, and the Red Baron Stearman Squadron.
