VOICE SYSTEMS CAPABILITIES

RESPONDING TO A CHANGING INDUSTRY.
Voice communications systems are changing radically. While computer control and digital transmission were first introduced into the voice arena in the mid-1970s, change until now had been relatively slow and incremental. No longer! Like the computer industry, telephony has moved toward distributed computing, open systems and applications which can truly affect the way business is conducted. Call center applications, voice processing, voice/data integration and new ways to interact with the national network are making voice systems ever more critical to business success. But they are also more complex and more difficult to design, select and implement. COMSUL has guided our clients through successive generations of increasingly sophisticated systems and services for nearly three decades and can help you meet the challenges of the changing industry.

King & Spalding, Altanta, GA. COMSUL designed and supervised the two-phased installation of the voice systems for the largest law firm in the southeast and its branches in Washington, D.C., New York City and Houston. The systems, which serve approximately 1,000 total extensions are an AT&T Definity G2 in Atlanta and G3s in the other offices. The systems are networked with T1 circuits into an integrated, feature-transparent system served by a central AT&T Audix voice mail system.

Latham & Watkins, Los Angeles, CA. COMSUL assisted this large, national law firm with the simultaneous selection and phased installation of Seimens/ROLM CBX systems with PhoneMail for the firms seven offices around the country. The systems ranged in size from 50 to 400 ports.

COMSUL is assisting this very rapidly-growing lender in the design and acquisition of Siemens (Rolm) CBX telephone systems with integrated ACDs which will support several hundred agents. The systems use Rolm's new ResumeRouting to complete calls to agents most skilled to handle them. A CTI application will provide agents with customer information triggered by the incoming call. The several CBXs in Sacramento are networked via CorNet in a common numbering scheme and transparent features. We have also selected Rolm PhoneMail, a Davox Predictive dialer, and a Periphonics IVR. Our involvement has saved The Money Store hundreds of thousands of dollars and improved response to their customers substantially. We are also providing consulting in data communications, facilities/wiring design, security systems and organizational development.

COMSUL designed, selected and implemented an Ericsson MD 111 PBX system which is networked with T1 circuits among six locations in Los Angeles served by different telephone companies. The integrated system provides 1,200 ports with transparent features, such as calling name display, across the network. A single voice mail system serves all six sites.

Mills College, Oakland, CA. COMSUL rebuilt the college's communications from the ground up. We designed, selected and supervised the implementation of a campus-wide fiber and copper voice/data/video cable system, a 1,500 line Fujitsu PBX and a new administrative LAN. There are a total of five NEC 2400s connected via a CCIS network to act as one system with a unified dialing plan, and centralized voice mail and call accounting systems. There are over 50 ACD groups supported by the system for appointment scheduling and advice triage. In a unique and highly successful computer/telephony integration (CTI) application, patients are assigned DID numbers at admission.
