Subject Area Model
Subject Area Models address functional business areas found in business organizations.

Each Subject Area Model is developed from a core of entities drawn from the industry Enterprise Model. The scope and level of detail of each Subject Area Model is expanded until it is of sufficient detail to support tactical data model, application or Decision Support System development.

Constructing Subject Area Models upon a core of entities from the Enterprise Model facilitates the sharing and integration of data between all levels of models - Enterprise, Data Warehouse and Subject Area Models.

Subject Area Models provide a valuable reference for selection and design of client-server components.
