Voice Mail

The Premiere Network Personal Message Center is an extremely powerful communications service. Each Media City customer will be provided a voice mailbox for his or her use. Callers wishing to leave messages to travelers access his or her mailbox by an 800 service. The system works as follows: (a) A customer provides to selected individuals the first 10 digits of his or her access number (most subscribers use their own telephone number). This ten digit code is the mailbox address in the computer system; (b) A caller wishing to leave a customer a message will dial 1-800-864-1000, the access number for all Media City Communications Services; (c) When asked for an authorization number, the caller dials the 10 digit authorization number of the customer (most often the home or business number) plus 6-2-4-5 or "MAIL" on the telephone keypad; (d) The Network Management System prompts the caller to leave a message at the beep. Messages are limited to 30 seconds. The customer will be informed the next time he or she accesses the system whether there are any new messages in his or her mailbox. A caller will not have to check his or her mailbox each time if a message is archived for later retrieval to see if there are new messages. Other important mailbox service features include: (a) Archival capabilities: A customer can store up to 10 messages at any one time; (b) Delete: Easy commands for deleting unneeded messages; (c) Turn Mailbox on or off: The mailbox service can be turned off by the customer. (d) Replay: Messages can be replayed immediately at the push of a key. Mailbox "message forwarding" is also included which will permit a caller upon receiving a message from another customer to return a message or to send it to another mailbox. Voice Mail Pricing: There is no fixed monthly charge for the voice mailbox. The user is simply charged for the minutes used to leave messages, retrieve messages, or archive messages for later review plus 25 cents for each received message.

The caller will be asked whether he or she is leaving a voice or fax message. If fax, the caller will be prompted to press "START" on the fax machine and the fax will be recorded on the Premiere system. (b) The customer will be informed the next time he or she calls network that there are new fax messages in his or her mailbox. The customer accesses the Personal Message Center and is informed of the number of fax messages in the mailbox and the total number of pages. He or she will be prompted to input the fax number to send the documents. The computer system will verify the number with the customer (by reading it back) and then immediately send the document to the designated fax machine. Messages can be archived and also forwarded to the home office or other designated fax number automatically upon receipt if so requested.
