Ambio-Clean Cleans up Monterey Harbor
DECEMBER 05, 1996-MENLO PARK, CA...Rainman International announces that it's environmentally safe organic cleaner Ambio-Clean was chosen and used effectively by the City Of Monterey, for the cleanup of a glue-like substance which occurred in the Monterey Harbor on October 22, 1996 from millions of decaying fish and wildlife.

As Ambio-Clean was tested by the Dept. of Fish and Game (see Press Release dated Feb.18, 1995 above) in 1995 and was suggested by the Dept. of Fish and Game as possible solution to the problem. See letter of Recommendation by the City of Monterey Harbormaster dated Dec. 21, 1996. As far as we know, this is the first time a product was used around the very sensitive marine sanctuary surrounding the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The following letter was sent to Rainman International from the City of Monterey

December 21, 1996

To Whom It May Concern:

On October 22, 1996, approximately 150 tons of sardines entered the confined space of Monterey Marina, consumed all the available oxygen in the water, and died. The decaying fish, which were stuck within the marina, produced a very great amount of sardine oil, which when mixed with the decaying protein of the fish bodies, created an almost glue-like substance. During the clean-up process, wherein approximately 95 tons of the dead fish were removed by hand, inevitably some of this fish oil/glue got onto the docks and neighboring boats.

The City of Monterey tried numerous products hoping to find one which would effectively remove this glue like substance from our docks and boats. While our experimentation never revealed a "miracle cleaner" that would immediately remove all this material with no other harmful consequences, we did find that AMBIO CLEAN was the most effective of those we tried. When applied in the proper dilution and allowed to sit for its ingredients to work, AMBIO CLEAN was an effective cleaner for this tough glue-like substance. It was also the only cleaning material which had the complete approval of our local Department of Fish & Game scientists. The City of Monterey used approximately 40 gallons of AMBIO CLEAN during the clean-up process and recommended it widely to boaters.

Sincerely,

Stephen B. Scheiblauer
Harbormaster
