I can't remote my messages
- Remote operation can only be done from a touchtone phone (commonly referred to as a push button phone) .
- Check and verify your remote code, especially with those machines that have programmable remote codes.
- If you are attempting to remote from a cellular phone or a PBX system to an older Phonemate model (before 1989), it may not be shortburst/cellular compatible.
- Shortburst or cellular compatible refers to a touchtone phone that does not emit a beep for as long as the button is pressed. These phones will only give a short beep regardless of how long you press the buttons.
- If you own a single cassette machine, the remote code must be entered after the beep for optimal connection. Make sure you hold down each button for at least 2 seconds.
- If you own a half digital or all digital machine, the remote code can be entered during or after the outgoing message.

I have Caller ID and Call Waiting does not work (CP-725)
- To clarify, Caller ID is a service you must subscribe to with your phone company.
- When you receive a phone call
and have a box, answering machine, or cordless that has Caller ID capability, the phone number of the party
calling will be displayed provided, of course, they did not block their phone number.
- If you have the stand alone Call
Waiting service, you will hear a beep when you are on the phone with one party and another party is trying to reach you.
- This same type of service which is a combination of both services.
- There is a third type of service which is
a combination of both services. Your telephone company, if it offers it, would offer it as a special package
unique to your company.
- With this service, Call Waiting is incorporated into Caller ID.
- If you are on the phone with one party
and another party is trying to reach you, your phone would not only beep, but it would display the
second party's information as well.
- This is a separate service that you must specially request from your phone company.
