How often should answering machine recording heads be cleaned?
About once every 4 months. Or more often if sound becomes weak or distorted. Disconnect the power outlet and remove the cassette tapes. Clean the heads and capstans with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
How often should cassette tapes be replaced?
About every 8 to 10 months. Replace more often if the messages sound like they are playing slowly or unevenly and if cleaning the recording heads does not eliminate weak or distorted message playback.

Note: CASIO PHONEMATE tapes are specifically made for answering machine use. To insure optimum answering machine function, we recommend using only CASIO PHONEMATE cassettes .
