CAN'T DECIDE WHETHER TO TAKE THAT INCOMING CALL?
CASIO PHONEMATE'S NEW TWO-LINE CORDLESS PHONE WITH CALL WAITING/CALLER ID LETS YOU SCREEN CALLS ON THE FLY

CP-760 Delivers Maximum Clarity in 25-Channel Cordless Phone, Serves as Mini-Phone Book with 75 Name and Number Caller ID Memory

TORRANCE, Calif. (August, 1997) - Gone are the days of missing that crucial phone call because you couldn't determine whether the Call Waiting click would prove to be a nuisance or a necessity. Casio PhoneMate's new CP-760 two-line cordless phone with Call Waiting/Caller ID display will help you screen calls on the fly - and then let you hear every word with clarity unmatched in any other 25-channel telephone.

Designed for household use, the CP-760 heads a new generation of two-line cordless phones from Casio PhoneMate. According to the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association, household penetration of multi-line phones has increased by nearly 50 percent within the last two years, and the installed base of Caller ID equipment has more than doubled during the same period

Through a high-resolution Call Waiting Caller ID liquid crystal display built into the handset, subscribers to Caller ID or Call Waiting Caller ID service can identify callers while using the phone, as long as the handset is in range of the base. Implementing Type 2 Call Waiting Caller ID - an enhancement to Call Waiting -- the CP-760 can display a second caller's name and number while the primary conversation is in progress

The CP-760 delivers the greatest clarity possible from a 46/49 MHz 25-channel phone by incorporating the company's patented Optimum Channel Memory (OCM) technology. Developed to avoid background noise from conventional cordless phones in congested urban areas, OCMtm allows fast, automatic channel selection through a scanning circuit that selects and remembers the clearest channels in your area. Casio PhoneMate's exclusive UltraClearŪ noise reduction circuit improves reception even further by filtering out interference.

"With the number of two-line households on the rise, the CP-760 is a must," said Stephen Knuth, president and CEO, Casio PhoneMate. "The combination of Caller ID and Call Waiting serves both the caller and the recipient -- when you know who's calling while you're speaking to someone else, you can make an informed choice on whether to take the call or not. And as a cordless phone, no other 25-channel offering on the market provides better clarity or mix of truly useful features - even if you're using only a single line."

Through its unique "Display & Dial" feature, the CP-760 effectively serves as a self-contained phone book, capable of storing and displaying up to 75 of the most recent Caller ID names and numbers. The name and number can be displayed and automatically dialed from stored Caller ID, or you can transfer up to 20 names and numbers to autodial records, for easy one-touch dialing. The CP-760's Supertwist Nematic (STN) 2-line LCD provides a clear view of the incoming caller's name and phone number from virtually any angle.

With its support for two lines, the CP-760 serves as both a speakerphone and a three-way conference phone, and it features two-way page and intercom capabilities. The CP-760 also provides "True Hold," which enables you to automatically take a call off hold when an extension phone is picked up. For those seeking assistance with programming, on-screen help tips scroll across the LCD. The CP-760 is expected to be available for $139 at specialty consumer electronics stores beginning in mid-October.
