Alfredo Barbosa of Novato won not one, but two big jackpots while celebrating the new year at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. Barbosa first hit a jack- pot on the $100 progressive slot machine for $160,000. Less than 24 hours later, he won another $104,975 jackpot on a similar machine.

Thomas Huffman thought of "pure excitement and ecstasy" when he won $20,000 playing video poker at Harrah's Reno. He says he comes to Harrah's Reno all the time and doesn't have any plans for his winnings just yet.

Aurora De La Cruz, a computer specialist from San Francisco, won her second big jackpot in two weeks at Harrah's Reno! Aurora won $25,000 playing a $25 token slot machine. Two weeks earlier, she won the same amount, making her jackpot winnings $50,000 in two weeks! Aurora said she was "happy, I did not expect to hit the jackpot." She says she plays at Harrah's Reno all the time. "Harrah's has always been good to me, especially the slot personnel," she said.

An East Coast mathematician has figured out the right equation for winning at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. Ed O'Laughlin of McLean, Virginia, won $69,266 on a $5 video poker machine. He plans to use it on his mortgage and for his kids' education.

Dumfounded, it took several minutes for Jon Barton to realize he'd hit the big progressive jackpot of $54,127. But it didn't take long to decide he'd spend it on a trip to England.

Former Harrah's tour guide Michael George "had a feeling" and won $44,293 on his favorite 25 cent Three Wishes slot machine at Harrah's Reno. His "feeling" payed off when he hit four genies on the third payline for the jackpot!

Eleanor Yonano knows how to warm up for a day of skiing. The Lake Tahoe local won $80,226 playing video poker which she says she'll put in the bank.
