The success of the ELY Chapter in Chicago, Illinois, and a recognition of the importance of an opportunity to share ideas, expand knowledge, and bring about closer liaison between men and women engaged in all disciplines and activities related to land economics, stimulated the development of additional local Chapters in key cities and geographic areas. Local Chapters facilitate the achievement of the objectives of Lambda Alpha International and expand the opportunities to exchange ideas and share knowledge with respect to all aspects of land economic activities.
Local Chapters are now active in the following countries, cities, and areas:
Local chapters meet on a regular schedule and hold both educational and social meetings. Most Chapters have a Chapter publication in the form of a newsletter to maintain liaison between members.
It is anticipated that additional Chapters will be formed in Europe, India, on the Pacific rim and in Central and South America in the very near future. Both Chapter members, members-at-large (who live outside the geographical boundaries of any Chapter) and student association members have shown an increasing interest in the formation of new Chapters.
