World's Largest Hampton Inn Franchised by Harrah's Reno
Harrah's Reno has announced that it will be the
franchisee of the world's largest Hampton Inn.
You may have noticed this structure quickly rising
above the Sports Casino at the corner of Lake and
Second Streets. Harrah's becoming the franchisee
of the Hampton Inn means that the same great
Harrah's staff will be managing and running the hotel when it
opens this October.
"We are very excited that, in light of the proposed reorganiza-
tion of Promus Companies, this will be the only Hampton Inn
directly linked to a Harrah's," says Jim Rogers, senior vice presi-
dent and general manager of Harrah's Reno.
The Promus Companies, the parent company of Harrah's
Casinos, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inns and Homewood Suites,
announced in January that it will separate its gaming and hotel
divisions into two new companies by mid-1995.

Renovated Rooms in Reno
Harrah's Reno hotel rooms, the
highest-rated in Reno, are getting a new look. "We're remodeling the entire room, from the
carpet to the furniture to the tile
in the bathrooms," said David
Brody, director of hotel, food & beverage and
environmental services. The new rooms are
decorated in rich green and taupe hues,
accented by elegant cherry wood furniture.
There are some new amenities, too, like
Nintendo on every television. One-hundred-seventy-five rooms were remodeled this spring,
with the remainder of the hotel scheduled to
be renovated over the next two years.
