MTC Announces the Release of RAPID (Rapid Archiving Peripheral for Images and Documents)
MTC announces the release of their newest product, RAPIDTM (Rapid Archiving Peripheral for Images and Documents). RAPID quickly converts digital documents into an analog format for storage and rapid retrieval on 16mm and 35mm microfilm. RAPID is an ideal alternative to bulging digital repositories such as imaging and COLD systems.
You can now purge all of your inactive, or seldom-used information from expensive on-line and near-line storage with the confidence that you will be able to retrieve and view it for many years to come. And, since RAPID stores information in analog format, it is a low-cost, no-migration alternative to storing information in technically-dependent digital format.
RAPIDs front-end WindowsTM software is easy to use, and allows you to organize documents and reports into file folders for meaningful, rapid retrieval. Furthermore, with high-speed automated retrieval systems such as MTC/SoftNets MegaSARTM Microfilm Jukebox, you can quickly locate and scan an image back to your digital document system.
RAPID can run standalone, attach on-line to a mainframe host, or attach to your LAN as a peripheral device. RAPID accepts a wide variety of data formats including alpha-numeric data, Group IV TIFF images, and native AFP and Xerox laser printer datastreams and resources, such as AFPDS and Metacode.
RAPID has been designed to seamlessly integrate with MTCs other software and hardware products, keeping in line with MTCs philosophy of utilizing an open systems architecture. MTC feels that an open-systems philosophy will continue to make MTC the logical choice for service bureaus and in-house customers, who wish to move away from the proprietary solutions offered by their competition.
RAPID System Highlights
w Runs standalone or connects via network or mainframe channel
w Prints alphanumeric data, Group IV TIFF files, and AFP and Xerox native datastreams and resources
w Prints at constant 240 to 300 dpi
w Tri-level ANSI standard image-mark coding for RAPID automated retrieval
Integrates seamlessly with MTCs IDS Executive and COED products for a complete, automated, multimedia output solution
