Reno/Sparks/Tahoe is a cultural center of the Sierras with an outstanding reputation and home to its own opera company, ballet, symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, repertory theatres, art galleries, and museums...including the National Automobile Museum. Recreation
Reno/Sparks/Tahoe's natural ,beauty and its distinctive four-season climate combine to form an area which offers almost every type of recreational activity. The majestic Sierra Nevada mountains form the western boundary of the Truckee Meadows featuring alpine and nordic skiing at 18 major resorts. Fishing, sailing, swimming, hiking, biking, camping and horseback riding are all exceptional and less than half an hour away in the numerous mountains or desert lakes surrounding Reno/Sparks/Tahoe.
Reno/Sparks/Tahoe offers virtually every recreational team sport activity for both youths and adults. There are over 70 city parks and over 10 golf courses to enjoy as well.

Health Care
The area has 693 physicians, 161 dentists, and 9 skilled nursing care facilities. There are three major medical centers with a total of 1,150 beds and a regional VA hospital. Unique to the medical centers are the family birthing center, heart center, 24-hour emergency trauma center and regional cancer center.
Transportation
Citifare is the area's public transportation system which runs four of its routes 24 hours a day and maintains 27 routes. In addition, Kids Express is a transportation service available to transport children ages 4 through 15 to after school or other activities.
Shopping Centers
Reno/Sparks offers two regional malls with over 160 stores featuring Macy's and Sears. The area offers over 100 shopping centers, specialty boutiques and an upscale outlet gallery featuring Anne Klein, Mikasa and Jones of New York. Reno/Sparks is also home to many of the most widely recognized retail chain stores.
Events/Attractions
Reno/Sparks~Tahoe is home to Hot August Nights, the Reno Rodeo, Reno National Championship Air Races, Great Reno Balloon Races, National Bowling Stadium, and Shakespeare at Sand Harbor. Some other events include: Cinco de Mayo, Asian-Pacific Festival, Italian Festival, Reno West Coast Wine Competition Tasting and Holiday Festival on Ice.
