The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) is a non-profit organization. It was founded by community business, educational and civic leaders in the early 1980's. The focus of EDAWN is to diversify and strengthen the Reno/Sparks~tahoe economy. Over sixty percent of its operational funding comes from the private sector~: This public/private partnership enables EDAWN to work effectively on behalf of qualified companies looking to establish or relocate operations to Reno/Sparks/Tahoe.
Relocation assistance can be provided in any of the five following steps:

2 Permitting Process Assistance
Communication is enhanced through pre-application meetings where each of the local governmental department heads meet with a business looking to move to the area. During these meetings, introductions are made and questions are asked from both sides to eliminate as many surprises in the permitting process as possible. This three way partnership between EDAWN, local governments, and business ensures an optimal communication.
3 Mentor Program
As part of the Business, Retention & Expansion Committee, a
team of professionals will be assigned to those companies who
made a commitment to locate their operation to the area. This
team will focus on continuing the pro-business environment by
assisting companies through the relocation process to ensure a
smooth transition. Representatives include:
